My school decided to organise an Easter fair to help us raise funds for our trip to Peru. We all helped in planning it. I went all around the village putting up leaflets and posting fliers for the event. Luckily for us, it was a really nice day so we had a decent turnout. I did an Easter egg tombola and - together with my mum's tea and coffee stall - managed to raise £63! As you can see from the picture (bottom left), I ran out of the majority of my prizes after only 20 minutes! Overall, our group made £1432 - a great start into our fundraising journeys.
The second event I did was a car boot sale (bottom right). Luckily I did not have to work too hard to try and publicise it, as it was organised by the Rotary who did an amazing job doing it all for me. I had LOADS of things to sell and - as you would expect at a car boot sale - I sold lots of them off for a very cheap price! However, this was good, as a I had a lot to shift and even after the sale I still have 7 boxes off leftover books, games and toys in my room! The day went very well, although I did have my doubts at the start and we nearly had to pack away only 1 hour into the sale, as the weather was awful and everything on my stall was getting really wet and ruined. Fortunately, the weather improved, and soon the sun came out and dried all of my things off. There were loads of sellers at the car boot sale, and therefore the turnout was amazing! What's more, I had a really good time talking about my trip to some of the people walking around, and got quite a few donations because of it. In the end, I managed to raise £83, which went WAY above what I was hoping for. As you can see in the pictures, my mum managed to make a banner and a temporary t shirt for me so I could start publicising my amazing sponsors straight away. Thanks Mum! |
